SC orders to present missing persons in 48 hours

A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry is hearing the case pertaining to the law and order situation in Balochistan at Quetta’s Supreme Court registry. During the hearing, Justice Khilji Arif Hussian remarked that the deteriorating law and order situation is an issue of Pakistan not of United States.  Referring to the Lyari operation, Justice Tariq Pervez questioned where the miscreants got the rockets in Lyari.  Advocate general Amanullah told the court that a security plan has been formulated for Quetta.  CJP warned all police officials to recover and present the people went missing from Jinnah town and Shalkot till day after

One Pakistani among 5 killed in Ehtiopia

Gunmen have killed five people, including one Pakistani, and injured eight others in an attack in Gambella in western Ethiopia, a government spokesman said Sunday.  "Five people -- one Pakistani and four Ethiopians -- have died... Of those who sustained injuries, four are Pakistani and four are Ethiopians," spokesman Shimeles Kemal told AFP.  The attack took place late Saturday about five kilometres (three miles) from the headquarters of Saudi Star, an agriculture company owned by Ethiopian billionaire Mohammed al-Amoudi.  Shimeles said 10 suspects had been taken into custody and were being investigated by police. He could not say whether the suspects belong to a rebel group or were acting alone.  "The matter is under investigation, we cannot say whether this was done by individuals or politically motivated, this will be discovered by the investigation," he said. Lyari operation continues on the fourth day

Police continues their operation on the fourth day to restore peace in Lyari.  According to the latest details, one person has been injured in firing incident near Cheel chowk while unidentified men set a bus on fire. New and heavy contingents of police have been deployed in the city while assailants continue their firing with advanced weapons.
