Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami calls on strike

KARACHI: After the murder of Ex-city Nazim Dr.Pervaiz Mehmood the previous day, Jamat e Islami announced a day strike in Karachi and country wide mourning on Wednesday.The Ex-nazim of Liaquatabad Dr. Pervez Mehmood was shot dead by some unknown people on Monday when he was on his way with his friend near Nazimabad area of Karachi.Today the his funeral prayer was offered at Numaish Chowrangi after the Zuhr prayers. The prayer was lead by former city nazim Naimatullah Khan Advocate.After the funeral prayer Leader JI Nasarullh Sheikh announced a complete shutter down in Karachi tomorrow and demanded to close down all educational institutes, Business centers and transport on Wednesday.The leader also stated that the party decided to stage a protest demonstration outside Chief Minister house.
